Best Time of Year to Ride in Croatia

Spring and Early Summer

April and May are the insider's choice — mild temperatures (18–24°C), minimal traffic, and green landscapes still fresh from spring. Rental prices are lower and roads like the Makarska Riviera are nearly empty on weekdays.

June is the sweet spot: warm enough to swim, before the peak-season crowds fully arrive, with long daylight hours meaning more riding time per day.

Peak Summer

July and August bring the hottest weather, often 30°C+, and the busiest roads and parking, especially along the coast. It's best for nightlife and full island access, but plan rides for early morning to beat both heat and traffic.

September and October are the best-kept secret — the sea is still warm from summer, air temperatures drop to comfortable riding range, and tourist numbers fall sharply after early September.

Our Recommendation

Split stays mild by European standards through winter, but rain and wind are more frequent from November to March, meaning shorter riding windows.

For the best balance of weather, crowds and value, book your motorcycle rental with Moto Andro in September or late May.
