The Dalmatian Islands – A Motorcyclist's Paradise
The area around Split hides one of the finest motorcycle experiences in all of Europe – the Dalmatian islands. A short ferry crossing and you'll find yourself on Brač, Hvar, Vis or Korčula, where roads wind along the sea, through olive groves and vineyards, with virtually no traffic and zero stress.
Each island has its own personality. Brač is famous for its pale stone, tranquil coves and the iconic Zlatni Rat beach. Hvar is glamorous and lively. Vis is authentic and nearly untouched by mass tourism. Korčula is the town of Marco Polo, full of Gothic lanes and medieval towers.
How to Reach the Islands with a Motorcycle
Jadrolinija ferries run from Split to all the major islands. Motorcycles are prioritised at boarding and the ticket price is significantly lower than for a car. The crossing to Brač takes just 50 minutes, to Hvar about an hour, and to Vis a little over two hours.
We recommend booking accommodation in advance and reserving your bike from Moto Andro – we'll give you personalised route advice for each island before you go.
Top Riding Routes on the Islands
On Brač, don't miss the route from Supetar up to Vidova Gora – the highest peak on any Adriatic island – with views that will stop you in your tracks. On Hvar, the road through Stari Grad and Vrboska toward Hvar town offers spectacular coastal panoramas. On Vis, you can ride the entire island in a loop in just two hours, but you'll remember it for a lifetime.
The Moto Andro team are experienced riders who can recommend exact routes and hidden coves that don't appear in any guidebook.
